A slave defied his master’s order not to read the Bible and was being flogged for it. As the whip cut into his flesh his owner taunted him by asking, “What can your Bible do for you now?” The slave replied, “It can teach me to forgive you, Master.”
What can your Bible do for you? Almost anything you allow it to do. It can teach you principles that apply to nearly any situation or circumstance you face in life. Paul wrote, “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17). There are times in your life you need to be taught, reproved, corrected, and trained in the right way. Your Bible can do this for you. It can equip you like nothing else can.
The question that still needs to be answered is… What will you let your Bible do for you?
