Q – How many times ate quail

Q.  How many times did God feed the Israelites quail in the wilderness?

1-18-13 - quail

A.  Twice       Exodus 16:13; Numbers 11:31

16:13 So it came about at evening that the quails came up and covered the camp, and in the morning there was a layer of dew around the camp.

11:31 Now there went forth a wind from the LORD and it brought quail from the sea, and let them fall beside the camp, about a day’s journey on this side and a day’s journey on the other side, all around the camp and about two cubits deep on the surface of the ground.

The first time the Israelites grumbled for food, God tolerated their grumbling and simply fed them.  Things were different the second time.  God had just finished consuming with fire some of them for complaining (Numbers 11:1).  Others had the nerve to complain again and even express ingratitude for the manna He had been providing them (:4-6).  He gave them their meat, but “While the meat was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, the anger of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD struck the people with a very severe plague” (:33).  God is a patient God, but His patience has its limits.  Don’t put Him to the test and find out what they are.

Have a great weekend in His service!
